Are you a researcher who likes a challenge? Do you think you could explain your work to a non-specialist audience in three minutes? If the answer to these questions is yes then the IOP wants to hear from you!

"3 Minute Wonder" is a competition that challenges researchers in physics-related fields (in industry or academia) to explain their work to the public in – you’ve guessed it – just three minutes.

Participants are scored by a panel of judges with points awarded for how well the idea is communicated.  The winner and runner-up will receive a cash prize of £250 and £100 respectively, along with the chance to compete in next year’s grand final at the IOP headquarters.

To find out more and to enter please visit www.iop.org/3MW - note that in order to enter the competition you will need to submit a short (50 word) abstract about your presentation via the webpage.

You do not have to be a member of the Institute of Physics to participate.

We look forward to hearing from you.
