The Institute of Physics is pleased to announce that it is hosting a talk by Lee Smolin to mark the publication of his new book, "Time Reborn: From the Crisis of Physics to the Future of the Universe".
In "Time Reborn", Smolin proposes that the laws of physics are not fixed, but that they evolve, in real time. This hypothesis opens up the possibility of resolving some of the open questions in physics today, such as the nature of the quantum world and its unification with spacetime and cosmology. Smolin places an emphasis on human agency and how our choices directly affect the range of possible outcomes for our future.
