UK PLANCKS Preliminaries
Join us for a weekend symposium build around the annual theoretical physics competition for physics students. On the 24-25th February the IOP will be hosting the UK PLANCKS Preliminaries at their headquarters in London. PLANCKS (Physics League Across Numerous Countries for Kickass Students) is a 4 hour long team competition designed to test the knowledge of final year physics students and master students. Participants will work in teams of 4 to solve as many questions as they can. The winner will then qualify to represent the UK and Ireland in the international final in Zagreb, Croatia in March.
Apart from the competition, the weekend will see a list of interesting guest lectures, workshops and a excursion to the Science Museum. Accommodation will be provided and a formal dinner is also planned for the evening of the 24th. Prizes (sponsored by the IOP London and Southeast Branch) will be awarded to the best two teams, with the first place prize being travel and entrance fee to the international final.
To register for this free event please follow the instructions on the registration page.
