During this ‘make and take’ workshop I will show how to make an ultrasound transmitter and receiver and we can explore their use in teaching the physics of waves.
I’ll show you how, if you make a second set back at your school, you can easily create an analogue of Young’s slits pattern.
You can also measure the wavelength of ultrasound and demonstrate that the speed of sound is independent of frequency.
The workshop is particularly relevant to A level teaching but also has uses at KS4.
