The Work Placement Symposium is open to the public, DIT staff, placement providers and other industry and hospital staff. Students studying for a variety of Physics degrees will showcase their achievements over their 7 month work placements. The student posters will help illustrate the diverse specialties encountered by undergraduate Physics and Clinical Measurement students such as materials science, nanoscience, medical physics, astronomy, spectroscopy, microscopy, circuit design, quality control, and the four specialist clinical measurement disciplines – Respiratory, Vascular, Neurophysiology and Cardiology.

Students and teachers are invited to see the large variety of placements and careers available to DIT Physics students and graduates.

As part of their six month work placement, students were required to use their scientific training and skills to gain relevant employment in hospitals, research institutions, medical device and manufacturing companies - in Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, USA and Australia.
