This talk (Roger Wise) will explore how polymer welds are being used increasingly in applications including furniture, aircraft manufacture, and the production of garments. The science and technology of what really happens will be described in processes such as microwave welding, laser welding and ultrasonic welding.
Roger Wise is an applied physicist working at The Welding Institute near Cambridge, on the development of joining technologies for
polymers and other materials.
