IOP CEO Professor Paul Hardaker gives a talk entitled 'What do we know about thunderstorms?'. The talk will explore our knowledge of the physics of thunderstorms and how this has helped us to understand where they occur, both on the earth and on other planets, the important role they play in balancing the earth’s energy budget, how this leads to weather hazards and how we can use this knowledge to make predictions and give warning. 7.30 pm with refreshments from 7.00 pm
