“Why is the Universe Accelerating Today?”

Prof. Anne-Christine Davis
(Dept. App. Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Univ. of Cambridge)

Abstract

Observations suggest the expansion of the Universe is accelerating. I will first introduce some cosmology and explain the evidence for this accelerated expansion. Then I will discuss possible explanations for this acceleration. I will discuss the cosmological chameleon model and ways in which is could be tested.
