Speaker:

Dr Friederike Otto, University of Oxford

Abstract:

While some consequences of the warming world,
namely an increased likelihood of more heat and
high precipitation extremes, are predictable, these socalled
thermodynamic consequences, on average and
regionally, can only be counteracted by anthropogenically
induced changes in the atmospheric circulation, and
amplified by dynamic effects and counteracted by
local forcings.

Lectures are held at 7.30pm in Rutherford Lecture Theatre 1, University of Kent, Canterbury, CT2 7NZ. Further information can be obtained from Dr Cyril Isenberg (email c.isenberg@kent.ac.uk, tel 01227 823768)
